Payment Policy
Accepted Payment Methods
Zoraro accepts a wide range of payment methods to serve our customers in the United States, Australia, and Canada. All payments are processed securely at checkout through Shopify Payments and trusted third-party processors.
Credit & Debit Cards
Major international card networks accepted across all three markets. All card payments are processed by our PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.
Digital Wallets
Fast, secure mobile-first payment options. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay are available on compatible devices and browsers at checkout.
Available on supported mobile and desktop browsers. Requires a compatible device and enabled wallet.
PayPal
Available for all customers in the United States, Australia, and Canada. Pay with your PayPal balance, linked bank account, or card without sharing your card details with us.
All regions supported. A PayPal account is not required to pay via PayPal guest checkout.
When is payment charged?
Payment is charged at checkout — your card is only charged when you place your order.
We do not place a pending hold and charge later. At the moment you confirm your order and click "Place Order," your selected payment method is charged for the full order amount. No additional charges are applied after checkout unless you place a separate order. Your order confirmation email serves as your receipt.
Apple Pay & Google Pay
Available on mobile devices and on desktop browsers that support these wallets (Safari for Apple Pay; Chrome, Edge, and Opera for Google Pay). Payment is authenticated directly on your device using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN — your card number is never shared with Zoraro.
PayPal — All Regions
PayPal is available to customers in the United States, Australia, and Canada. You may check out as a PayPal guest using your credit or debit card without needing a PayPal account. PayPal buyer protection applies to eligible purchases per PayPal’s own policies.
Not accepted
We do not accept cryptocurrency, wire transfers, money orders, personal checks, gift cards from other retailers, cash on delivery, or buy-now-pay-later instalment services. If you would like to discuss an alternative payment arrangement, contact us at info@zoraro.com.
Payment Security
Every transaction on zoraro.com is protected by industry-leading security standards. We use Shopify Payments and certified third-party processors — your card details are handled exclusively by these certified systems and never touch our own servers.
Security standards
Every transaction is encrypted, authenticated, and processed by PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment providers.
Zoraro does not process card data on its own infrastructure. All payment data is handled exclusively by Shopify Payments and our certified payment processor. We never see, transmit, or store your full card number, CVV, or sensitive authentication data at any point during or after the transaction.
SSL / TLS Encryption
All pages on zoraro.com are served over HTTPS with TLS 1.2+ encryption. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted end-to-end. Look for the padlock icon in your browser address bar.
PCI DSS Level 1
Shopify Payments holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification — the highest standard in the payment card industry. This means every aspect of card data handling, storage, and transmission meets the most rigorous security requirements.
3D Secure Authentication
We support 3D Secure (3DS) as an industry best practice for card-not-present transactions. When triggered, you may be redirected to your card issuer to verify your identity via Visa Secure, Mastercard Identity Check, or Amex SafeKey before the transaction is approved.
Fraud Detection
Our payment processor uses real-time machine learning fraud detection to screen every transaction. Unusual patterns — mismatched billing, atypical order size, high-risk IP — trigger automatic review. Some orders may require additional verification before fulfilment.
No card data stored
We do not store your full card number, CVV, or card expiry date after payment is processed. Your CVV is never retained after authorization — this is a strict requirement of PCI DSS compliance. If you save a card for future purchases in your account, only a secure payment token provided by the processor is stored — never the raw card data itself.
3D Secure — How It Works
3D Secure adds a second layer of authentication at checkout. Depending on your card network, you may see:
• Visa Secure (formerly Verified by Visa)
• Mastercard Identity Check
• Amex SafeKey
You will be redirected to your bank’s verification page to authenticate via a one-time code, app notification, or biometric. This is an industry best practice and adds no cost to your order.
Currency & Pricing
Zoraro serves customers in the United States, Australia, and Canada. Prices are displayed and charged in your local currency based on the market you shop from. The currency you see at checkout is the currency you will be charged in.
United States
Currency: US Dollar (USD — $)
All prices shown to US customers are in USD. Your card or PayPal account will be charged in USD.
Australia
Currency: Australian Dollar (AUD — A$)
All prices shown to Australian customers are in AUD. Your card or PayPal account will be charged in AUD.
Canada
Currency: Canadian Dollar (CAD — C$)
All prices shown to Canadian customers are in CAD. Your card or PayPal account will be charged in CAD.
How currency is determined
Your shopping currency is automatically set based on your shipping country. When you select your destination at checkout, prices update to reflect the correct local currency. Exchange rates between USD, AUD, and CAD are set and managed by Shopify’s international markets system and your payment processor. Zoraro does not apply its own currency conversion surcharge — the rate used is determined by Shopify and the applicable card network at the time of transaction.
Foreign transaction fees — bank-issued charges
If your card’s billing address is in a country different from the currency being charged, your bank or card issuer may apply a foreign transaction fee (typically 1–3% of the transaction amount). This fee is charged by your bank, not by Zoraro, and is outside our control. We recommend checking with your card issuer before placing an order if you are concerned about these fees. Using PayPal may help avoid some foreign transaction fees depending on your PayPal account currency settings.
Order Authorization & Capture
Understanding how Zoraro handles payment authorization and capture helps set expectations for what you see on your bank statement between the time you order and when your order ships.
Authorization Holds
For some orders, Zoraro pre-authorizes your card at the time of checkout. A pre-authorization is a temporary hold that verifies your card is valid and has sufficient funds, without yet transferring the money.
During this period, the amount may show as “pending” on your bank or card statement for 1–2 business days. This is normal and does not mean you have been charged yet.
When Capture Happens
Payment is fully captured (charged) when your order is fulfilled and dispatched
You will receive an order confirmation email at the time of authorization
You will receive a shipping confirmation email when capture occurs and your order ships
Capture typically occurs within 1–3 business days of your order being placed, depending on fulfilment speed
What “pending” means on your statement
If you see a pending charge on your bank or card statement after placing an order, this is the pre-authorization hold. It is not a completed charge. The funds are simply reserved to confirm payment capability. Once your order ships and we capture payment, the pending charge becomes a completed transaction. If your order is cancelled before capture, the pending hold is released — see below for hold release timeframes.
Order cancelled before shipping
If your order is cancelled before it ships, your authorization hold will be released automatically.
We process cancellation releases as soon as the order is cancelled in our system. However, the time it takes for the hold to disappear from your statement is controlled by your bank, not by Zoraro.
Hold release timeline
Authorization holds are typically released within 3–5 business days after cancellation. Some banks may take up to 7 business days. Contact your bank if the hold has not cleared after 7 days.
Already captured?
If your order was cancelled after payment capture had already occurred, you will receive a refund to your original payment method. Refund timelines are detailed in Section 06 of this policy.
Failed Payments
If your payment fails at checkout, your order will not be confirmed and no charge will be applied. Below are the most common reasons for payment failure and the steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Common Reasons for Decline
Insufficient funds: Your card or account does not have enough balance to cover the order amount
Card limit exceeded: The transaction exceeds your daily spend or individual transaction limit
Bank declined: Your bank blocked the transaction, often for security or fraud prevention reasons
Expired card: Your card’s expiry date has passed
Incorrect card details: Card number, expiry, or CVV entered incorrectly
3D Secure not completed: Authentication step was cancelled or timed out
What to Do
Double-check your card number, expiry date, and CVV and retry checkout
Confirm your billing address matches the address registered with your card issuer exactly
Try a different card — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover are all accepted
Use PayPal as an alternative payment method (available for all regions)
Contact your bank to ask if they have blocked the transaction and request they approve it
If the problem persists, email us at info@zoraro.com
Steps to resolve a failed payment
Re-check your card details
Go back to checkout and carefully re-enter your card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing address. Small typos are the most common cause of payment failure. Ensure the billing address matches your card issuer’s records exactly, including postcode/zip code formatting.
Complete 3D Secure if prompted
If your card issuer asks you to verify via Visa Secure, Mastercard Identity Check, or Amex SafeKey, complete the authentication step. Do not close the browser window during this step. If the window timed out, return to checkout and try again.
Try PayPal or a different card
If the same card continues to decline, switch to PayPal (available for US, Australian, and Canadian customers) or use a different credit or debit card. PayPal allows guest checkout — you do not need a PayPal account to use this option.
Contact your bank
Some banks automatically block online transactions to international merchants or flag first-time purchases as suspicious. Call the number on the back of your card and ask your bank whether they have placed a block on the transaction. Request they approve zoraro.com as a trusted merchant.
Contact Zoraro
If you have tried the above steps and are still unable to complete payment, contact us at info@zoraro.com or call +1 (740) 272-5703. Include the email address you used to check out and a brief description of the error message you received.
Bank fraud triggers — important note
Heads up: Some US, Australian, and Canadian banks automatically flag online purchases from merchants they haven’t seen before as potential fraud — especially for cross-border transactions. If your card is declined and your balance is sufficient, your bank’s fraud prevention system may have intervened. This is the most common reason for an unexplained decline. A quick call to your bank’s fraud department to confirm the transaction is authorised by you is usually all that is needed to release the block. No issue exists on our end when this occurs.
Refund Payments
When a refund is issued by Zoraro, it is always returned to the original payment method used at checkout. We cannot refund to a different card, bank account, or payment method than the one used to place the order. Refund and return eligibility is governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Refund method — original payment only
Refunds are always issued to the same card, PayPal account, Apple Pay source, or Google Pay source used when the order was placed. We are not able to redirect a refund to a different card or account. If your original card has been cancelled or replaced since the time of purchase, your bank will typically route the refund to your new card or account — contact your bank to confirm this. We cannot hold or redirect a refund under any circumstances once it has been processed on our end.
Refund processing timeline by payment method
Credit & Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
5–10 business days after Zoraro initiates the refund. Processing time is determined by your card network and issuing bank. You will receive a refund confirmation email from us when the refund is initiated. The actual credit appearance on your statement may lag by 1–2 additional business days depending on your bank’s posting cycle.
PayPal
3–5 business days after Zoraro initiates the refund. Refunds are returned to your PayPal balance. If your PayPal balance is then withdrawn to your bank, standard PayPal bank transfer times apply (typically 1–3 additional business days for US accounts; 1–5 for Australia and Canada).
Apple Pay & Google Pay
Varies by bank — typically 5–10 business days. Apple Pay and Google Pay refunds are returned to the underlying card or bank account linked to the wallet. Processing is controlled by your issuing bank and may follow the same timeline as a standard card refund. Check with your bank if the refund has not appeared after 10 business days.
Maestro, Diners Club, JCB, UnionPay
5–14 business days depending on the issuing bank and card network. International card networks may take slightly longer due to cross-border settlement times. If your refund has not appeared after 14 business days, contact us with your order number for investigation.
Important refund rules
Refunds go back to the original payment method — no exceptions.
We cannot process a refund to a card or account that is different from the one used to place the order. This is a security requirement of our payment processor. If you have closed the account or card used, contact your bank — most banks automatically route refunds to your replacement card or account.
Partial refunds
If only part of your order is refunded (e.g., one item from a multi-item order), the partial refund amount will appear as a separate credit on your statement alongside the original charge. You will receive an itemised refund confirmation email.
Refund not received?
If 10 business days have passed since our refund confirmation email and you have not seen the credit, first check with your bank or card issuer. If they confirm nothing is pending, contact us at info@zoraro.com with your order number.
Legal & Compliance
Zoraro is operated by The Investment Management Office LLC, incorporated in Delaware, United States. Our payment processing complies with applicable US federal and state laws, and with the consumer protection laws of the markets we serve.
FTC Payment Disclosure
In compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, Zoraro discloses all payment terms clearly before checkout. You are shown the full order total — including any applicable taxes and shipping fees — before you confirm and pay. We do not use negative option billing or hidden autorenewal programmes.
CCPA — California Customers
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have rights regarding their personal data, including payment-related data we collect. Payment data (card type, last four digits, transaction amount) is collected to process your order and is not sold to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full CCPA disclosures.
3D Secure — industry best practice (not EU-mandated)
Unlike European markets, the United States, Australia, and Canada do not mandate Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) under PSD2. However, Zoraro has adopted 3D Secure authentication as an industry best practice to protect customers and reduce card-not-present fraud. This benefits our customers by reducing fraudulent use of their card details online. When triggered, it adds a verification step through your bank without adding cost or complexity to your purchase.
Chargeback Policy
If you believe a charge is incorrect or unauthorised, please contact us at info@zoraro.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We maintain full order documentation including tracking records, payment confirmations, and fulfilment evidence. Most billing disputes can be resolved quickly and directly — a chargeback process typically takes 45–90 days and may negatively affect your account standing with your card issuer. Fraudulent chargebacks for items confirmed as delivered are a violation of our Terms of Service.
Payment data collection disclosure
What payment data we collect and why.
When you place an order, our payment processor collects the payment data necessary to complete the transaction. Zoraro receives only a limited, non-sensitive summary of the transaction — not your full card details.
What we receive
Card type (e.g. Visa), last four digits of your card number, payment status (approved / declined), transaction ID, and amount. This is used to fulfil your order and for customer support.
What we never receive
Your full card number, CVV, or card PIN. These are handled entirely by Shopify Payments and our certified processor. Zoraro’s systems never have access to your full card data at any point.
Data retention: Transaction records (order amount, card type, last four digits, payment status) are retained for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable US federal and state record-keeping requirements.
